Sharn, City of Towers. They reach into the sky like the stone fingers of civilization that they are. They hold secrets and promises, and break the same just as quickly as they make new ones. You’ve got an opportunity to make a little coin by assisting with an expedition for Morgrave University; this should be easy money and not a lot of trouble… right?
-What's Past is Prologue
Embers of the Last War is a 12-part noir-inspired campaign set deep in the depths of Sharn, the City of Towers. The first session is played with pre-generated characters and acts as a prologue, setting up elements of the later story and introducing players to the setting of the campaign. From there, the players will play normal characters for the next 11 sessions.
You can expect this campaign to be narrative and roleplay-heavy with themes inspired by classic noir crime dramas, but in Spencer's signature style of "darkness, with humour". Spencer considers himself a guide and a storyteller, here to help you on your journey, rather than tell you what to do. He's not a fan of mechanics-heavy games, and would rather let you play and solve problems creatively.
If that last paragraph made sense to you, and sounds like a good time, then this is the game for you! If you're looking for the high-adventure of Oracle of War, or if you crave a dice-heavy, crunchy experience, this is not the game you're looking for.
Welcome and we hope you enjoy some of our Home Game in the Cloud sessions! We know that sometimes cramming multiple games into a single weekend each month isn't the right choice for every group and every adventure. In order to facilitate more games every month, we're adding some different ways of setting up longer-form adventuring.
For this adventure, you will be purchasing individual game sessions every week for twelve sessions (with some potential breaks where other events interfere with the schedule). Games will be on Wednesday nights at 7pm EDT. Each game will cost $25 per player, paid in advance of the start time. For the following session, you'll receive a 72-hour advance window in which to purchase the next game before we open those seats up to the public.
When paying for your first game, please make sure to include your discord username in the pre-order form. Games will be organized on the Baldman Games Community Server on discord, so please make sure to join us there and reach out using the #i-need-help channel where one of our admins can grant you a special role that will give you access to your game channel.
